Billy Childs is a Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer, and arranger renowned for his inventive fusion of jazz, classical, and contemporary music. The Los Angeles Times praises him: "As a pianist, he possesses the improvisatory skills and powerful sense of swing one associates with world-class artists" Childs is an inventive composer and arranger whose efforts consistently expand the dimensions of the jazz genre and beyond. With seventeen Grammy nominations and six wins, including two for Best Instrumental Jazz Album (Winds of Change, 2024; Rebirth, 2018) and two for Best Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist, Childs is celebrated for his sophisticated artistry. His work spans collaborations with luminaries such as Yo-Yo Ma, Sting, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, and Renée Fleming. Childs has performed worldwide with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, and major jazz ensembles.
