General Zaragoza is the highest and most mountainous Pueblo Mágico in Nuevo León (1,580 m elevation). It sits in the heart of the Sierra Madre Oriental, at the foot of Cerro El Potosí (3,721 m elevation — the state's highest peak). It's the only apple-producing region in NL: from August to September, orchards blanket the high valleys and produce cider, jellies, and artisanal vinegars. Mountain cuisine features goat cheese, forest honey, rabbit, and country bread. The town center preserves 19th-century adobe architecture and the neogothic church of San Antonio.
